Pastor Herbert R. Davis
Herbert Reynolds Davis, a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan currently resides in Durham with his lovely wife, Psiyina (Sigh-yee-nah) and three of his four beautiful daughters. Herbert Reynolds Davis is committed to preparation for ministry having received the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Religion (Kalamazoo College), Master of Divinity (Duke University School of Divinity), Doctor of Divinity (St. Thomas Christian College) and Doctor of Ministry (Apex School of Theology).
Dr. Davis’ diverse ministry expands across different arenas throughout the body of Christ. Within his own denomination, the Church of God in Christ, Dr. Davis serves as the Chairman of Ordination (North Carolina 2nd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction) and as a District Superintendent (Harvest District). He also serves as the President of the C.E. Anderson Institute of Ministry which prepares ministry candidates for ordination and is a member of the COGIC Scholars Fellowship. Dr. Davis also serves as the Establishmentarian and Overseer of the Harvest Covenant Fellowship as well as the Co-Host for the annual Iron Sharpens Iron Leadership Conference.
Dr. Davis is active in the life of the community, which is seen through his past service on the following boards: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Durham and Orange Counties, Pregnancy Support Services, Duke Hospital Ethics Committee and the Past Chair - Executive Team for Durham’s 10yr Plan to End Homelessness. Presently, his community service has him effectively serving on the following boards: Regional Initiative Taskforce (United Way of the Greater Triangle); the Strategy Team of Durham CAN (Co-Chair); the United Christian Campus Ministry of North Carolina Central University (Chair) and Project Access of Durham County (Executive Committee). Dr. Davis is also an educator at the collegiate level having taught at several area institutions. Currently he faithfully serves as the Vice President of Apex School of Theology.
Dr. Davis is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Nehemiah Christian Center which is making maximum kingdom impact throughout the central region of North Carolina. His sound and thought provoking preaching, coupled with an anointed delivery, have paved the way for him to travel throughout the Unites States. Thus countless numbers of lives have been changed, relationships restored, people delivered, and most importantly souls saved through his powerful ministry.
Dr. Davis has been blessed with gifts, graces and information that he is mandated to share with the body of Christ. Because of this charge, he is able to transcend the vestiges of traditionalism to reach diverse audiences. He describes himself as “an interdenominational preacher” and an unwavering advocate of ecclesiastical harmony.
